The pocket handkerchief, or pochette,
was born as a simple handkerchief for the nose that in the Sixties
became a frequent accessory of male dress, though always white. Largely
disappearing the Seventies, it returned in Eighties in a different
way.

Helpful Advice
Today the pocket handkerchief is not obligatory and can be of
virtually any color. It does not need to be of the same color as
the tie, but should match it with a tint or tone.
Placing the Handkerchief
The way to place it in the jacket pocket is simple and natural;
any method of specific folding is to be avoided. It is best taken
in hand and simply placed in the pocket.
